At the heart of the Verwer Hession Trust lies a simple yet profound mission: to honour and preserve the timeless wisdom of two beloved Christian authors — George Verwer and Roy Hession — and to make their writings accessible to readers around the world. Established as a registered charity in England and Wales (Charity No. 1031304), the Trust exists to advance the Christian faith by ensuring these life-changing resources continue to inspire generations to come.

Both George Verwer and Roy Hession devoted their lives to serving Christ through words — whether spoken from a pulpit or printed on a page. Their writings have guided countless individuals toward deeper faith, heartfelt prayer, and authentic Christian living. The Trust carries forward this legacy by preserving, publishing, and distributing their books.

What We Do

The core purposes of the Verwer Hession Trust include:

• Making Literature Available Worldwide – We ensure that the writings of George Verwer and Roy Hession are freely available as downloadable PDFs or available through publishers who partner with the Trust. 
• Providing Publishing Grants – The Trust awards small grants to publishing houses that take on the task of printing and distributing these classic works, helping them reach new audiences globally. 
• Free Resources – Sermons, leaflets, and additional materials are offered at no cost wherever possible, continuing a culture of generosity and accessibility. 

A Shared Vision

The Trust was born out of the personal wishes of Roy Hession and George Verwer. Before he passed, Roy designated funds to establish a charitable trust dedicated to spreading his spiritual message. George then entrusted his own literary estate to the Trust, recognising a shared vision of keeping these teachings alive for the wider Christian community.
